Why So Few Photos

As I put this together I recognize that photos are missing from my stories. Why?

There are a couple of reasons.

Economic: film was expensive and processing was also expensive. I do not recall any specific prices, but I do know that this cost kept me from being profligate with my photography.

Lack of Management: When I took photos they were typically on Kodachrome and thus were delivered as a set of negatives and a deck of snapshots. I did not have the discipline to file and label them so over the years they just disappeared.

Now as a digital photographer I am not burdened but the per shot cost and I am pretty diligent to organize my photo storage.

I really wish I had those shots from the 50s and 60s that I did not take in the first place or certainly did not keep.
