Mom and Dad were Baptists and raised their three kids in that denomination.

When we lived on the south side of town we attended Calvary Baptist.

When we moved to the Idylwood house we ‘moved our letter’ to North End Baptist.

This is how it looked in the late 2010’s. The near building is the ‘new’ sanctuary. During my elementary years the sanctuary was smaller, white and unairconditioned.

North End moved to a new facility on Eastex many years ago.

We attended – faithfully. We were there almost any time the doors were open. I accepted Christ as my personal savior on my tenth birthday, 25 March, 1946. I was baptized on a Wednesday night 10 days later. I lead singing in Sunday school and was pretty active in the youth group.
