I made two rather large mistakes during my time at Rice

I made two rather large mistakes during my time at Rice. Wish I could correct them, but no chance.

First, I did not take going to school and studying like a serious 8-10 hour a day job. If I had, I’d have made better grades and perhaps have graduated with honors.

Second, I got infatuated with alcohol. Raised in a teetotaling family, I suddenly had access to beer and liquor at Rice and took advantage of it. I don’t know why because I really did not like the taste or side effects, but I wanted to be in the cool in-crowd.
