My senior year at Rice starting in September 1967 aligned with Kathy’s sophomore year at Trinity. We were fortunate that Kathy could visit Houston and camp out with Elaine and Carol or with Patt Crane.

There were several weekends where I drove to San Antonio after work on Friday, picked her up and drove back to Houston to drop her off at one of the two places where she could stay. Then we would spend all day Saturday doing some thing fun including some kind of party on Saturday night.

Sunday, we would also do something fun like Herman Park or San Jacinto and then I would drive her back to Trinity in time to make curfew and then back to Houston, arriving around 2 AM. Class 6 hours later. She was definitely worth it.
